Gabe's Cherry
Ice Cream Recipe


Ingredients


One Batch of Gabe's Cherry Jam
( Instructions how to make this jam is below )



1 Cup of Frozen Cherries

1 Tablespoon of White Sugar

1/4 Cup of Water

1 Pint Heavy Whipping Cream

One 8-ounce pack of Cool Whip

1 Tablespoon of Vanilla

4 Tablespoons of Honey

1 Teaspoon of Salt


Procedure

Let us make the cherry jam

Into a pot add:

That is:

Your 1 Cup of frozen Cherries / 1 Tablespoon of White Sugar /
1/4 Cup of Water / 1 Tablespoon of Honey / 1/4 Cup of Water

Over medium heat, bring to simmer
( About 4 minutes )

( My heat settings range from 1 - 10; I used "5". )

While simmering take a potato
masher or strong spoon and mash
the cherries well until it is no
longer in large clumps.

Keep it on Medium heat, leave
it uncovered and stir occasionally
to reduce it to a semi-thick consistency

It may bubble a lot, if this occurs,
just stir it.

This took me about 13 Minutes.


Turn off heat and that's it!

Let it cool until it is cold.

Put in fridge for 3 hours.


Now let's make the batch
of ice cream that you will add this jam to.

In a big bowl
add your Salt

Add your vanilla

Add your Honey

Whisk Well
(For 30 seconds)

Fold in all your
cool whip and whisk
for 2 minutes.

Add gradually your heavy
whipping cream and whisk well
(1/4 of it at a time), until
it is finished.

( Whisk for 30 seconds each time
you add 1/4 your heavy whipping cream.)

Now whisk a last time by hand
for 5 minutes. It should thicken up.

Take cherry jam out of fridge.

Fold in 1/2 of your batch of
cherry jam into ice cream mixture
and whisk for 30 seconds.

Fold in the remaining of your Cherry
Jam into Ice cream mixture and whisk for 30 seconds.

Whisk a last time for 1 minute.

That's it.

Put in plastic container,
put in freezer and freeze
immediately for 1 day.
