Voltage (Lightning) is the ideal conductor for current, not a wire.


According to Ohm's Law: V=IR,
we understand that resistance is
part and parcel of voltage.

That is: The higher The Voltage,
The higher The Current, that can be transmitted.

The question of resistance does not apply,
because current is to be transmitted via voltage
(Lightning) not wires.


Hypothesis

Ohm's Law should read:

V = I
