Mathematics, Music, and Prime numbers
By Dr. Leah Attar

In my quest to illustrate my discovery that "1"
is a Prime number, I have applied my theory to
music, using Beethoven's 9th Symphony as the
foundation.

In this work: "Prime Faktor", when the music
is sectioned according to prime numbers: 1,2,3,5,7.....etc.
and rearranged; cutting out sections that are not PRIME,
I have discovered that it generates "new music".

I put forward (and it has been understood) that
prime numbers and music are not only related, but if
a piece of classical music is sectioned, according to
PRIME numbers including the number '1';
that the new music generated should "make sense".

Method

Section ( chop ) into two minute
blocks a piece of classical music.

Take the prime number sections of
the work, that is: 1,2,3,5,7, etc
(please include the number "one").

Discard the non-primes: 4,6,8...etc.

Play in loops in order of primes in
a sequential order and at a 3 second
gap pace per section.

That is, let 1st section play into 3 seconds
then start the next section and continue
until the end of your sections.

Continue looping. Further, if one section stops,
re-start it. Record for as long as you like.

See what new music you generate!

It is almost like the number "101",
where 1 IS NOT EQUAL TO 1,
where "0" acts as a "mirror".
The music is close, but not the same.

In the work:"Mathematics", I put forward that the
human mind can comprehend music at different levels with
different works played at the same time. That is, the human
mind can "think" in different directions at once.

Please pay special attention to the near ending of this work:
about 5:04 minutes into this work to the end; where the
mind experiences "a quickening".

It is as if music, thought, and the harmonies generated by
the different pieces of music come together in a way that
I am still researching.
