She lets Kurt understand, she needs a set of protocols
written for the work she was doing. For this job, she
wanted to build her own "mini-supercomputer" using "tight
clusters" of personal computers.
Knowing Kurt is briliant, she wanted to know if he was up
for the challenge, that is, to code a new set of Protocols to
work in an INTRANET environment that ties all CPU power
and bandwidth together for about 100 machines.
Kurt had finished (including beta-testing) in about a week.
As he finished coding, he sends an email that bounced
in about every time zone on the planet, before getting
into the mailbox of a "Mr. Barney Rubble".
Part of the email reads: Meet Leah and myself in
Amsterdam - Schiphol Airport........
About 1.5 weeks before the meeting at Schiphol Airport, a
blonde woman, dressed like a college student, walks up to
the proprietor of a certain public eating area. She fills
out an application for a waitressing position.
A week later, a frantic proprietor calls her local number
asking her to start work immediately, half of his staff
quit within the last week.
