When Alexander and Daniella's parents vanished, Joachim chose the
only family his own son would trust - The Van Schoonhoven's of Holland.

Mrs. Van der Zee made sure of this by making her Father-in-Law
swear to take their children to the Van Schoonhoven's in case anything
would ever happen to Daniel-Sebastian or herself.

When Alexander and Daniella arrived in Holland, early one morning,
Mrs. Van Schoonhoven, "read a letter" and understood what she was to do.

She immediately sent Rachel and Daniella to
Ecole L�mania in Lausanne, Switzerland.

Alexander, she left in the hands of her husband - an international diamond
broker. His job would take him and Alexander to all corners of the globe -
exactly what she wanted - that means, Alexander would also "vanish".

When Joachim requested for his grandson for "family business", Alexander was
already proficient in his knowledge of precious stones and metals.

Joos Van Schoonhoven took time and taught Alexander a branch of knowledge
not pursued by "others in the business" - the secret applications of diamonds
and gold - knowledge he hopes will help Alexander in any future endeavor he
may choose to undertake.

Next to Dr. GeldeFsman, Alexander has the deepest respect for his "Uncle Joos".

Before their disappearance, Dr. Alessandra-Sarah Van der Zee let Mrs. Van Schoonhoven
understand what discovery she and her husband had made. Dr. Van der Zee also "felt"
their lives would be in danger, so she gave a letter to Mrs. Van Schoonhoven making
her promise NEVER to open it or read its contents unless Alexander
and Daniella show up on her door steps, without them.
