Three months later...
Dr. Van der Goes: I have found out very interesting stuff... I hope I didn't take too much time! Dr. Cosmin: No...No...No... Don't worry, these things take time... I'm just glad you are taking me out to lunch this time! Dr. Van der Goes: It is my turn, isn't it? Thank you for your patience... I had to deal with bankers... Not all of them are like myself! Some, I had take to Breakfast, lunch and dinner! Dr. Cosmin: That is why I let you call me... Patience has always been a good friend of mine... It affords me better skill at what I do! What have you found out my friend? Dr. Van der Goes: All this is of course "off the record" and for secrecy reasons, we are not here. Out of five managers, I narrowed it down to two that can give us anything useable. Dr. Cosmin: I hope they will enjoy their new vacation homes in The Bahamas. Dr. Van der Goes: One has already taken an early vacation, I expect him back in about a month! Dr. Cosmin: All for a good cause.... Dr. Van der Goes: Let's get down to business... These women are apparently "employees" of a Latin American Oil Conglomerate. They "oversee" purchasing. Dr. Cosmin: They are purchasing managers? Dr. Van der Goes: Yes, and within a certain period of time, 250 million Euros have passed through their accounts, to purchase "heavy equipment" from German and American Equipment Manufacturers. Dr. Cosmin: Hmmm... Are these personal accounts or corporate accounts? Dr. Van der Goes: I cannot say, because they would not tell me... Everything is a secret here! What I know is, they open two accounts, one for company funds and one for themselves, now - I have ascertained, each account has 25 million Euros each! Dr. Cosmin: Not bad for students! Wow, we couldn't pull a couple of Francs from those wine growers in France! Remember? Dr. Van der Goes: Don't remind me... The free bottle of wine made that job bearable! At least we went to Greece afterwards! Dr. Cosmin: Greece... Anyway, is there anything else? Dr. Van der Goes: Greece... I'm glad I have my memories... Anyway, so these people, or "students", purchase the heavy equipment, then RESELL THEM - or "RETURN THE 'DEFECTIVE EQUIPTMENT' " at very, very, deep discounts back to the manufacturer! I understand they have "bought" and "sold" or "returned" the same equipment three times over the last 13 months! So the money returned is officially another company's money - washed clean, because it is coming out of their bank! I'll bet you this equipment does not even make it out of the loading dock! Dr. Cosmin: Talk about a "money back guarantee" - "less shipping and a lot of handling", of course. Dr. Van der Goes: Of course.
Dr. Cosmin: The women must think this is perculiar! Dr. Van der Goes: I think they "just follow orders" - there may be other accounts - I don't know. Dr. Cosmin: This is very interesting... Very good work Krisoijn! Dr. Van der Goes: Thank you. Let me tell you, banking regulations are getting stiffer all the time, these aren't the heydays anymore! These funds will probably get frozen... Dr. Cosmin: Can you hold that off for me, I will undertake some work with this information, I can assure you, from what I see will happen in the future, will cause those funds to be released to its rightful owners.
